Obituary for Rosabel B. Degni VERNON – Rosabel B. Degni, 81, passed away on December 3, 2018, in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 2, 1937, in Watertown, NY, the daughter of Hubert and Pauline (Shead) Bamford. Rosabel was a graduate of Adams Center High School and earned a Master’s degree from Syracuse University.

On April 12, 1957, she married Victor Degni. They shared a blessed union of 35 years prior to his passing on April 17, 1992. Rosabel was a school counselor with the Oneida City School District until her retirement in 2002.

She was an active member of the Mohawk Valley Quilt Guild. She is survived by her partner and friend, Lynda Doring, Vernon; children, Jill (Joel Colman) Degni, Bronxville, Janice (Barry Sibbitts) Degni, Homer, and Eric (Debi) Degni, Westmoreland; grandchildren, Taylor Degni and Amanda Sibbitts; brother, Rollin Tremont, Watertown and many nieces and nephews. Rosabel is also survived by her feline companion, Motor and canine companion, Cesar.

She was predeceased by 3 brothers, 3 sisters and Grovine Tremont, who raised her as her mother from infancy. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Road, Utica. Funeral services will commence immediately following visitation at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Rosabel’s name may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
