Obituary for Rose Monford Ms. Rose( Goodwin) Monford was born on April 8, 1948, to Magnolia and Robert Goodwin, in Columbus, Ohio. She was one of eleven siblings and the ninth born. She departed peacefully on Monday morning, April 30, 2018 at home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, at the age of 70.

Rose Monford was baptized and received the gift of the Holy Ghost in 1972 as a result of a street meeting sponsored by the Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith. She taught Sunday school, Junior church and vacation bible school for over 40 years, was a member of the usher board, prayed for people and cooked. Rose was a dedicated volunteer cook at Friends of the homeless shelter for several years.

She was a member of Harvest Time Ministries International Church before moving to Rio Rancho, New Mexico in May 2017. Rose attended South High School. She worked at Lazarus Department Store, Ohio State University Hospital and Franklin International for 31 years before retirement.

Rose is preceded in death by parents, Robert Sr., and Magnolia Goodwin, sister Alberta Pyfrom and brother Robert Goodwin Jr She is survived by: two children, LaRue and Gervonneda of Rio Rancho, New Mexico ; three grandchildren, Sam, Chynna of Dallas, GA and Amonte’; two great grandchildren, Kamara and Mya of Dallas, GA; siblings: Ada Bates, Magnolia Edwards, Doris Magwood, Elus (Shukreyyah) of Youngstown, OH, William (Sandra), Lawrence, Barbara (Lawrence) Henderson and Betty Harrington, Aunt, Emma Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
