Obituary for Rose Perkins Rose Lee Perkins was born on January 10, in Montgomery, Alabama to Charlie and Laurethia Brown. She was the third born of nine siblings. Her parents and siblings; Anthony, Pearline, Renty and Ernest preceded her in death.

Rose accepted Christ at an early age and grew up attending First Missionary Baptist Church of Inkster. She later became a member of Holy City Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Walter Allen Steen.

Rose served on the nursing guild and participated in various church plays and events. She was also involved with the Inkster Christians in Action Community group. Rose was educated within the Inkster Public School system, where she was a member of the Gilee Club and student government.

She continued her education and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. Throughout her career she worked and retired from the Wayne County jail in Detroit. Rose continued working at various nursing homes as a Charge Nurse, including DMC-West.

Early on while working as a waitress at Dog-n-Suds, she met the love of her life George W. Perkins. To this union three beautiful children were born, They were married for over thirty-nine years before he preceded her in death in 2006. On June 8, 2018, her heart grew weary and God called her home.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her beloved children; son Robbie LaSalle and daughters, Robin Lautethia (Joseph) and Rondra Lynn (James); brothers, Charles (Darlandez), Carl James and Denzell (Sherise) and sister Judy (Drexell) McClendon; grandchildren, Andrew, Asia, Reese, Royce, Joseph, Jovan, Jalen, Jaia, Jordan, London and Jnai LaRose.
