UTICA – Mrs. Roselyn C. (Quackenbush) Turchetti, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 unexpectedly in the comfort of her home. Born in Rome, NY on December 1, 1935, Roselyn was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Wygant) Quackenbush. She received education in Rome and Camden Schools.

At one time she was married to Joseph Turchetti, Sr. and to that union came the blessing of four children. Roselyn worked for New York State in the Maintenance Department at the State Office Building. She enjoyed the good friendships she made during her employment in that position.

She was a friendly, outgoing woman who spoke her truth. She honored her Catholicism and her faith sustained her. She had a compassion and love for all God’s creatures, especially cats.

She rescued many felines who came to her freely because they could sense her kind heart. She enjoyed gardening, and her yard was her sanctuary and place of solace especially when she was surrounded by her flowers, perennials, particularly the lilies, and her lilac trees. Years ago, cookouts with her family were special to her.

Roselyn’s greatest blessing was her children and her grandchildren. Roselyn is survived by her children and their loves, Joseph Turchetti Jr., Louis Turchetti and Tammy Smith, and Robin Turchetti. She held in her heart the memory of her infant son, Robert Turchetti.

She also leaves her grandchildren, Tara Turchetti, Amy and Tiffany Turchetti, Joseph and Danielle Reith; twins Shonda Bre Smith and Stephen Pfleuger, and Rikki Lynn and Ralph Walker Jr; and Michael Romano (with whom she shared a special bond) and Renee Molnar; great-grandchildren, Olivia; Lola; Paisley; Brittany, Mariah, Stephen, Ralph “Buddy”, and Brandon; and great-grandchildren, Colton and Carter; Michael, Jordan, and Jaxson, aka “the little man”. She will be remembered by her sisters, Donna Zorn; her nieces, especially Helen Jackson with whom she shared a closeness; nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Marion Fadness, Beverly and John C. Tarbania Sr., and Helen and Joe Schenna; and niece, LaSandria L. Martino.

The family will remember and celebrate Roselyn’s life at a private time. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Roselyn C. (Quackenbush) Turchetti please visit our Sympathy Store.
