A luncheon will immediately follow the service and interment will be at 1PM at the Rock Springs Cemetery. Family and friends are invited 7PM Wednesday evening at the Fulkerson Memorial Chapel for a family service.

RoseMarie Lossing died at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital in Plentywood on January 17, 2019. She was the daughter of Otto & Grace Andersen where she grew up with brothers Harold & Merlin & sister Eloise. After losing her mother at an early age, she helped her dad and family on the farm. She attended grade school at Rock Springs and graduated from Medicine Lake High School later working various jobs in Montana & North Dakota.

Rose returned to the farm approximately a year later meeting James Lossing and getting married on March 15, 1947. They lived in Plentywood until moving to the farm south of Redstone in 1949. She became passionate about being a farm wife making her home there even after losing James in December of 1994.

She moved to LaCasa in August of 2014 until her death. Rose was an active member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Wanso community. She taught Sunday school & was active in Ladies Aid; was a founding member of the AWR Club and held leadership positions.

She was a 4-H leader for over 40 years, being known for her bread making classes thru several generations. She was on the boards for Brush Lake Scholarship and Thrivent. She was very proficient at organizing.

Whether it was a church dinner, an auction sale luncheon or the 4-H fair food booth (which was her passion for many years). Being surrounded by family and friends was important to Rose. In later years having “winter church” at her house was the highlight of her week, proudly serving homemade goodies and coffee after.

Rose was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rose is survived by her son Jim (Beth) Lossing; daughter Vickie (John) Bailey; Vickie’s children: Josh Benedict, Lana (Arlin) Shipstead; Sarah (Brandon) Melchior; James “Buddy” Benedict; Lesslie (Chance) Krausz; Sheldon (Jessica) Benedict. Louise’s children: Ryan (Tanya) Gobbs; Cody (Melisa) Gobbs.

Great grandchildren: McKenzy & Lillian Shipstead; Mazzie, Griffin, Cobin & Grace Melchior; Jason Benedict; Shelby, Kendel & Rylee Gobbs; Sylis & Benjamin Krausz; Sister-in-law Margaret Andersen; nieces Audrey Wang; Lynette Bryd; Barbara Andersen; nephew Dale & Mark Andersen.
