Rosemary George, 90, of Glen Carbon, Illinois and formerly of Tuscon, Arizona and Granite City, Illinois passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon. She was born June 2, 1928 in Illmo, Missouri, a daughter of the late Albert and Jessilee (Barnes) Bentley. She married Joe L. George in April 1948 and he passed away on March 11, 2017.

She had worked at The Fabrics Store in Granite City for several years and was a former charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Granite City. She cherished her church family at the First Baptist Church in Catalina, Arizona and enjoyed her days of sewing and gardening. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.

She is survived by three daughters, Jeanette (Louis) Saucier of Edwardsville, Linda (Ronnie Knot) George of Tuscon, Arizona and Mary George of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Dan (Caroline) Smith, Tim (Crystal) Saucier, Joel (Jamie) Saucier and Tristen Davis; four great grandchildren, Rex Smith, Finn Smith, NovaLee Saucier and BayLee Saucier; a sister-in-law, Marie Arnold; other extended family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Alberta and Jessilee. In celebration of her life, a graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Lightner Cemetery in Scott City, Missouri with Reverend Clint Wisdom officiating.
