Roy Benton “Sonny” Wells, Jr. passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 at UPMC Pittsburgh after a sudden illness. Sonny was born February 22, 1943 in Toronto. He was a former member of the Hill Top Presbyterian Church; member of the Phat Boyz Car Club and had been a Cub Scout Den Dad .

He retired from the former Kaul Clay Company as a fork lift operator. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Benton Wells, Sr. and Reva (Long) Wells and a brother, Arthur Wells. He is survived by his wife, Florence Elizabeth (Goray) Wells whom he married July 17, 1965; sons, Roy B. (Jennifer) Wells III, Matthew (Tina) Wells and Andrew (fiancé Jean) Wells all of Toronto; grandchildren, Kevin Rawson, Ryan, Dana and Andrew Wells, Jr.; sisters, Barbara (Mike) Joyce and Charlotte Bradley all of Toronto.

Visitation hours for Sonny will be held 1-3 & 5-7 Wednesday, January 2nd at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto. A celebration service of Sonny’s life will be held 7 P.M. Wednesday, January 2nd at the funeral home with the Reverend Susan Clegg officiating. For those wishing to make a donation in Sonny’s memory may do so to the Jefferson County Animal Shelter, 200 Airport Rd.
