Roy Eugene Hopper November 30, 1934 – February 21, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mr. Roy Eugene Hopper, 84, of Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Oak Brook Care in Oak Brook, Illinois. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 25, 2019, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Derrick Jowers officiating.

Interment will follow in the Trezevant Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of service. Mr. Hopper was born November 30, 1934 in Huntingdon, Tennessee, to the late Romie Ethel Hopper and Ruth Irene Weatherford Hopper.

He was a Graduate of UT Knoxville, with a degree in Transportation, after graduation he joined the Navy, where he flew planes. When he left the Navy he flew commercially for years with his last employment being at Kalitta Air, where he retired as a flight engineer. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Hopper and one sister, Fay Hopper Anderson Vines.

He is survived by three daughters, Jeannine Cockrill (Ben) of Downers Grove, Illinios, Dana Holbert (Dean) of Parsons, Rae Evelyn Turner (Steve) of Shelbyville, Kentucky, and one son, Roy Winston Hopper of Huntingdon. He also leaves four grandchildren, Samuel Turner, Ethan Turner, Nathan Cockrill, Ashley Cockrill, two step-grandchildren, Keenan Hobert, Kurt Holbert, and one great-granddaughter, Maggie Ann Turner.
