Roy Kenneth Savina died unexpectedly May 18th in Norwich, CT at the age of 56. He was taken far earlier than fair with so much left to teach his family and the world. Roy is survived by his wife, Kathleen Savina of Raynham; his mother Evelyn Savina of Brockton; his children Tom Sanford of East Bridgewater, Rebecca Sanford Andrews of Canton, CT, and Meghan Savina of North Attleboro; grandchildren Thomas Sanford, Isabel Andrews, Evan Sanford, and David Andrews; siblings William Savina of Brockton, Cheryl Savina Johnson and husband Larry of Raynham and Lynne Savina Pecz of Brockton, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father Joseph Savina and his brother Steven Savina both of Brockton, MA. Roy was born on January 3, 1962 in Brockton, MA to Evelyn and Joseph Savina. He was amazing man educated both in the local school system and by the world.

He was skilled at raising children, home construction, sewing prom dresses, making the best cup of coffee, setting up an amazing camp site, and sparring with Trump on Twitter. He was a man of few words, but he said the ones that mattered most. He married Kathleen in 1984 and so began one of the greatest loves of this century.

Roy was a loved man who taught all around him how to live life to the fullest. As a husband he brought flowers home every week; as a dad he knew just what to offer- a joke, advice, or silence; and as a friend he was the first to help, He was the one called first for directions, instruction, and guidance by his kids; a man who loved his family fiercely and without judgement. He was kind, patient, and proud of his wife and children.

A loved one never left his house without sage advice and a warm hug. He worked as a truck driver for Guardian, previously for Talbots. At every job he worked, he made friends.

He proudly wore his belt displaying his unbelievable amount of consecutive years without an accident. More amazing, he taught all three children their skills on the road. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Roy’s life at calling hours Monday, May 28 from 2-4 p.m. with a service directly following from 4-5 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton.
