Ruth M. (Hoyer) Franz, 82, of Brockton, passed away May 8, 2018. She was a native of Bremerhaven, Germany. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, shopping, and watching golf and soccer; and was a member of V.F.W. Post 1046 Auxiliary.

Ruth was the wife of the late John F. Franz; loving mother of Anna Chamberlain, Erica Franz (and Michael Macomber), John Franz Jr. and Carin Kenney (and Thomas), all of Brockton, and the late Wilhelmina “Mina” Franz; grandmother of Jake Franz, Alysia Doten, Amy Brillon, Christopher Chamberlain, Brian Chamberlain, Ashlee Chamberlain and Cory “Danny” Chamberlain; sister of Inge Russell of FL, Werner Hoyer (and Margaret) of Germany, Wilma Kaehler (and Harold) of Germany, and the late Helmut Hoyer; and a great-grandmother of many. All are welcome to calling hours Sunday 2-5 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Monday at 8 a.m., funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Edith Stein Church and burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
