Obituary for Rudy Gutierrez Rudy Gutierrez, age 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Southwest Hospice in Strongsville, Ohio after a short illness. He was born on June 28, 1943 to Dionisio and Camerina (nee Ambrosio) Gutierrez in Mexico City, Mexico. His family moved to Lorain in 1952 where Rudy graduated from Admiral King High School in 1963 and later from Lorain County Community College in 1965.

He went on to work at Valtronic in Solon, Ohio as a supervisor. Rudy was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain. He enjoyed Cleveland sports, history, traveling, especially taking trips to Mexico with his loving wife.

He also enjoyed golf, mariachi music and bowling, where he won many trophies. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy J. (nee Oleyar) Gutierrez; daughter, Jill Lipcsik; siblings, Martha Gutierrez Ambrosio, Vincent Ruben Gutierrez, Camerina Hernandez, Lori (Ron) Hritsko and Dennis Gutierrez, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Delia Gutierrez and Sally Gonzalez and brothers, Jorge Gutierrez and Rick Gutierrez.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 3 from 4-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 4 at 8:45 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave, Lorain. Rev.

William Thaden will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rudy’s name can be made to Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave, Lorain, OH 44055.
