After a protracted battle with cancer, Russell Neil Wall died on Thursday, August 30th, 2018 in Sacramento, CA at the age of 63. Russ leaves behind his wife, Michelle Brough, children Laura, Patrick and Gina, all from a previous marriage, son-in-law Brandon Brough, daughter-in-law Kristen Brough and one granddaughter. Russ was born on June 11, 1955 in Yuba City, CA to father Edward Wall and mother Mary Bunch Wall, who, both, predeceased him.
Russ attended John F. Kennedy High School… Read More » and later attended Cal State Poly San Louis Obispo where he graduated with a degree in Architecture. Russ excelled in drawing and mechanics. His one, true love was architecture.
He designed countless buildings throughout his life and worked for the last 18 years at the Sacramento Airport where he worked in the design department. Russ was also an avid model train collector and spent many countless hours collecting and researching model trains. He and Michelle spent many, wonderful vacations “riding the rail”.
Of all of Russ’s qualities, one thing that many people saw in him was his sense of humor. He had a keen eye for details and insightful wisdom on how to get people to laugh. Not only did that take quick wit, but a perception of what people would aspire to.
Russ is also survived by his two brothers and their wives, Martin (Lonnie) and Lorraine Wall and Kevin and Linda Wall. He also has numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Greg Wall and Richard Wall.
Russ requested to be cremated. His ashes will be taken home by his wife. It was Russ’s request that no services be held.
His wife would especially like to thank the ICU staff at Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital for the excellent care and support and for Dr. Jenkins and all the doctors who helped Russ at the end. It was also Russ’s request that in lieu of flowers, please send a donation to any of the local Northern California Chapters of the Wounded Warrior Project. Russ will be loved and missed by everyone he knew, especially surviving wife, Michelle.
