Mrs. Ruth Heiser, of Port Washington, passed away Friday evening, December 14, 2018, while surrounded by her loving family. She was 84 years old. Ruth was born In Sheboygan on January 12, 1934, daughter of Arthur Mueller and Julia Deppiesse Mueller.
She grew up on the family farm on Highway 57 and graduated from Random Lake High School with the Class of 1952. After high school, she attended St. Agnes School of Nursing in Fond du Lac. The couple settled in Port Washington and raised their family. Ruth worked as a registered nurse at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Port Washington, and later became a nurse for Dr. Fema So Garay. Mrs. Heiser served as a Deputy Coroner in Ozaukee County for 12 years and also worked as an EMT for the Port Washington Fire Department.
Ruth was a long-time member of St. John XXIII Parish, attending St. Mary’s Church with her husband for many years, and attending St Peter’s Church more recently. She was a member of the Christian Women and helped serve Mass to residents at Harbor Club before she became a resident there. In her younger days she and Jim liked to travel, occasionally stopping at a casino or two along the way.
Ruth also enjoyed playing bridge and dancing. She is survived by her husband Jim of Port Washington, their six children; Amy (Dean) DeBroux of Fort Myers, FL, Mary Sue (Roland) Klotz of Menomonee Falls, Patti (Jeff) Scholten of Lakeville, MN, Kathy (Paul) Rismeyer of Port Washington, Teri (Jerry) Weiss of Port Washington and Tom (Sandy) Heiser of Meridian, MS. She is further survived by 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two sisters Marilyn (Bob) Jacoby of Plymouth and Carol (Bill) Hiller of Hazelhurst, two brothers Richard (JoAnne) Mueller of Random Lake and Bill (Judy) Mueller of Silver Creek, sister-in-law Judy Mueller of Fort Aktinson, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Angela Scholten, infant brother Joseph and brother Roger Mueller. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00PM on Thursday, December 20th at St. Peter of Alcantara Church of St. John XXIII Parish, 1800 N. Wisconsin St., Port Washington. Father Patrick Wendt will preside.
The family will receive visitors at CHURCH on Thursday from 3:00 PM until 5:45 PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Washington. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. John XXIII Parish.
