OBITUARY Ruth Ann Fisher May 10, 1927 – September 16, 2018 Ruth Ann Colborn Fisher, 91, of Hickory passed away, Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Trinity Ridge-Hickory. Born May 10, 1927 in Kansas City, MO, she was the daughter of the late Norman L. and Anna M. Colborn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Richard E. (Gene) Fisher; also a daughter, Joyce Phillips Preswood; a son, Michael Joseph Phillips; a sister, June Colborn Dorris; and a brother, Jerry Philip Colborn.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Fisher Gutberlet and husband, Keith of Hickory; three grandsons, Blake Fisher Gutberlet of Hickory, Matthew Isaac Preswood of Marshallberg, NC and Michael Joseph Phillips II, of Topeka, KS; and four great-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother and a homemaker. She was a faithful member of the Bible Book Class of Highland Baptist Church for many years.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 3:00 – 4:00 pm at Drum Funeral Home in Hickory followed by a brief memorial service with Pastor Ben Rowe officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice online or by mail to 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
