Ruth Ann Freeman October 28, 1940 – December 26, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Ruth Ann Freeman 78 of Marinette passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at BAMC. She was born on October 28, 1940, to the late Robert and Julia (Viola) Zapka in Chicago, IL. On April 23, 1960, Ruth married Roy Franklin Freeman Jr. in Chicago; he preceded her in death on February 18, 1994.

The family had moved to Marinette in 1987, she had moved back to Chicago in 1994, returning in 2012. Ruth enjoyed drinking coffee, especially on Wednesdays with Brenda, cooking, playing cards, watching the news and home shows, and going to garage sales and thrift stores. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by three sons: Robert of Marinette, James of Menominee, and Joseph (Tabitha) of Mazon, IL; a daughter, Karen (William) LaBombard of Marinette; nine grandchildren: Elizabeth, Kimberly, Hannah, Madison, Owen, Bobby, Amber, Josh, and Natalie; two great grandchildren, Bryson and Penelope; sister, Judy Zapka; many nieces and nephews; special nieces, Lisa and Lorraine; and special friend, Jeff Paulin. In addition to her parents and husband, Roy, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie; granddaughter, Talia; two brothers, Steve and Bob; and sister, Alice. Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home in Marinette on Sunday, December 30th from 2-4pm.

Funeral Services will be held at 4pm with Deacon Steve Gretzinger officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
