Obituary for Ruth Kooken (Archer) Ruth E. Kooken 1936 – 2018 Ruth Elaine Kooken of Apache Junction, AZ, passed away in Gilbert, AZ. on June 12, 2018. Ruth was born in Maitland, MO to Earl and Minnie Archer on June 14, 1936.

Ruth was a beautician in Maitland in the late 60’s serving the locals with her amazing skills. She loved the AZ desert and mountains and moved there in 1969 to hike and explore. She loved embroidery, sewing and made numerous gifts for family and friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald Kooken, two brothers, Leon Archer, and Lavern Archer and one sister, Polly Hosfiel. Ruth is survived by her three daughters Patricia K. McElroy, Jeannie L. Cochran and Tammy L. Malfait, son in laws Sweeney Stutes, Dave Cochran and Timothy Malfait, her sisters Lavon Smail and Mary Dow, grandchildren Jennifer Anderson, Donna Streebin, Clint Cochran, Mary Stewart, Michael McElroy, Rachel McElroy, Jeremy Malfait, Jenny Malfait, Christine Walton and many great grandchildren.
