Ruth’s Obituary Ruth Evans was born on January 13, 1931 in Springfield, MA. She was raised in West Springfield and Springfield area. She went to local schools and graduated for Trade School (Now known as Putnam Academy).

She was one of ten children born to Florence (Finch) and Claude Willamson. Both born in Georgia. She moved to Worcester where she was in charge of Day Care Center before transition into home day care work.

After many years she move back to Springfield where she worked in home health care before retiring in 1993. Her hobbies included doing find a words, puzzles and crafts. A love of remote-control cars.

She also enjoyed listen to gospel music. Ruth came from a large family and was always willing to reach out and give a listening ear or helping hand when she could. She predeceased by by not only her parents but all of her siblings.

Six brothers, Claude (Kenny), Raymond, John, Robert and Charles (Butch), Fred Williamson. Three sisters Claudia Mae Butler, Shirley Smith and Viola Forrester. Three sons Philip, John and Mark Evans.

She leaves to carry on her memory Florence Riley for Texas, James, Ramona and Robert Evans all of Worcester. Claude, Dawn and Tara Evans all of Springfield. She also leaves 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.

Also, many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for being stern but fair. Loving and kind.

She also had a good sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh. Those who came in contact with her were touched by her willingness to share what happened in her life if she thought it would help you in yours. She will be missed daily by her children and the many relatives that came to know her as “Aunt Ruthie”.
