OBITUARY Ruth Hales Rooks November 9, 1928 – October 31, 2018 Ruth Hales Rooks, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with her grandson the Rev.

Michael Fuller officiating. The family will greet friends on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry St., Macon GA 31201 or Tabernacle Baptist Church, 6611 Zebulon Road, Macon GA 31220.

Ruth was born in Macon, GA to the late Leonard L. and Laura Peterman Hales. She was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Carl Sandefur, sisters, Annie Mae Hales Parden, Rose Hales Jackson, Irma Jean Hales Kendrick, and brother, Luther “Buddy” Hales. Ruth was a lifelong member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, having served in various ministries at the church, Sunday School, WMU, VBS and Senior Friends.

She was the owner and operator of Cherokee Beauty Shop for many years. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She is survived by her husband, Eugene F. Rooks of Macon, daughter, Judy (Jim) Sutton of Macon, grandchildren, Michael (Christie) Fuller, John Sandefur, Shannon Sandefur, Chris Sandefur, Justin (Claire) Sandefur, Curtis Sandefur, great grandchildren, Ruthie and Zeke, Jessica, Chelsey, Samantha, Savannah, Joshua, Taz, Nolan, and Melissa, and several nieces and nephews, extended family, Janice and Gary Farmer, Kelli and Ray Bowden, Stephen and Amy Bowden, Brad and Jennifer Farmer.
