OBITUARY Ruth Jane Scavetta January 7, 1929 – December 8, 2018 Ruth Jane Scavetta, 90, formerly of East Hartford, died Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Maple View Manor in Rocky Hill. Ruth was predeceased in death by her beloved husband, Vincent (Jimmy) Scavetta in 1995 and her parents, William and Corrine Michaelsen. Ruth is survived by her son, Mark and his wife Gail Scavetta and her daughter, Kathy and her husband Don Munson, eight grandchildren; Kim, Tai, Joseph, Stephanie, Samantha, Meghan, Katherine, Donald and nine great grandchildren.

She is also survived by a sister, Nancy Anderson and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Saint Peter Catholic Church of Hartford for over 60 years. Ruth was a member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary and was retired from Wolff Zackin Insurance Agency.

Her passion outside of work and church was the love of her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Ruth was an avid New York Yankee fan and loved to bowl and play bingo. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, December 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield.

A memorial service will be held at the funeral chapel on Friday, December 14, at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd. , Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
