Ruth Marie Gordon joined her Lord and Savior on April 10, 2019 following the Last Rites of her Catholic faith. Ruth was born on September 19, 1928 in Washington, D.C. to loving parents, John and Marie Weber. She had eight siblings, John (deceased), Marguerite (deceased), Dorothy (deceased), Mary of Billerica, Ma.

, Theresa of Waldorf, Md. , Marie (deceased), Barbara (deceased), and Alvin (deceased). She met her husband of 66 years, James, while working for Liberty Mutual in 1952.

One year later, on May 2, 1953 they were married. Due to her husband’s frequent transfers with Liberty Mutual, she, at various times, resided in Sudbury, Ma. , Cleveland, Oh.

, Pittsburgh, Pa. , Philadelphia, Pa. , Highland Village, Tx.

, and Durham, N.H. During that time she gave birth to five sons, James (deceased), John, Robert, Richard and Michael, who between them gifted Ruth with twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In 1996 Ruth and her husband retired to Surfside Beach, S.C. In 2013 they moved to Flower Mound, Tx. , to be nearer to their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The funeral will be directed by the Dalton Family Funeral Home. The family, for personal reasons, has waived a viewing and requested a private mass to be conducted at St. Phillips Church in Lewisville. The family extends its sincere appreciation to April Freeman, R.N., and Holy Savior Hospice for their extraordinary care rendered to Ruth during her final days.
