Sally’s Obituary Sally Frederick Weaver Powell passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters on February 8, 2019. She was born on September 16, 1927 in Ligonier Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Phillip Weaver and the late Palmyra Frederick Weaver. Sally was a graduate of Duquesne University.

She was a visionary in the fashion industry spending more than 25 years as a merchandise manager and buyer for Ivey’s Department Stores. She was truly ahead of her time and had the forethought to bring great lines and designers to the southeast and was a leader in the industry. A true artist, her pallet was fashion and influencing the style of the south.

Additionally, she was a true leader and mentor to future generations of merchants and retailers. Sally was a wise, artistic and loving women whom accomplished so much with her time on earth. She left her family and friends with many memories to smile about.

She adored her grandson Corey and he had so much love for her. Survivors include her daughters Polly Everette Powell (Michelle) and Kristin Powell Quinn (Kevin) and beloved grandson Corey Quinn. Memorials may be made to: Hospice and Palliative Care Lake Norman 705 Griffin Street Suite 203 Davidson NC 28036 A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
