Salgado age 91, passed away peacefully at home in Roswell, NM surrounded by family on February 5, 2019. Born to Micaela (Trujillo) and Blas Salgado on July 28, 1927 in Baranca, Ojinaga, Mexico, and as an infant lived in Ruidosa, TX and later in Artesia, Cottonwood, Alamogordo and finally in Roswell, NM. He became a naturalized citizen in 1963.

He was a loving, respectful and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved to go hunting and fishing with his sons, his father, and his brothers. He loved music, singing rancheras and dancing, especially boleros.

Survivors include his wife of almost 20 years, Olivia, his sons and their spouses, Albert (Margie), Salvador, Jr. (Helen), Frank (Tina), Tony (Espie) all Salgado, Olivia’s adult sons, Ray, Mike, and Wil all Albarez, his brothers, Jose (Emma)Salgado, Arthur (Kathy) Salgado, his sisters, Sally Brito (Lazaro) Estella Jones, Frances Smith, and Eva Abbott (Roy). Survivors also include his 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, his is current wife’s 2 grandsons, her 6 grandchildren, her 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Blas and Micaela Salgado, his wife of 52 years, Helen O. Salgado, his brothers, Adan and Blas Salgado, Jr, his sister Sophia S. Ramirez, his sons, Ricardo and Charlie Salgado, and his infant great granddaughter Erica Salgado.

Viewing will be at 10:00 AM, Rosary at 10:30 AM, and mass at 11:00 AM, all at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 705 Delaware Ave. , Alamogordo, N.M. on Saturday, February 16, 2019 with Father Martin Cornejo, Celebrant. Interment will be at Monte Vista Cemetery following Mass.

Pallbearers: Grandsons: Steve, Hondo, Frank Jr., Greg, and David all Salgado, also Ray Albarez, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers: Grandsons: Mark, Robert, and Adrian, all Salgado, Steven Otero, Mike Jr., and Gabriel Albarez. The Salgado family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
