Salvatore V. Longo Vietnam War Veteran Beloved Father, Brother and Grandfather, 80 Mr. Salvatore V. Longo, 80, of Ortley Beach, NJ, formerly of Newark, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Friday, March 29 from 5:00 –8:00 p.m. The funeral will be conducted on Saturday, March 30 at 8:15 a.m. There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Bloomfield at 9:00 a.m. The entombment will be at Glendale Chapel Mausoleum, Bloomfield with military honors. Mr. Longo was born in Newark where he resided before moving to Ortley Beach 25 years ago.

He was a Boiler Operator for the Newark Public Schools for 30 years before retiring. Mr. Longo served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. .

He is survived by his beloved son Nicholas Longo and his wife Lori; his sister Linda Fuchek and her husband Daniel; and his precious grandchildren Gabriella and Nicholas Longo. Mr. Longo is predeceased by his wife Marie (Vitagliano) Longo.
