Funeral services for Sam Harold Patton, age 85 of Demorest, will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Clay Patton officiating. Interment will follow the service in Demorest City Cemetery.

Mr. Patton passed away February 15, 2019. Born in Greenville, South Carolina on October 31, 1933, Mr. Patton was the son of the late William “Bill” and Laura Parker Patton. Mr. Patton was of the Baptist faith and he was a retired foreman with Georgia Department of Transportation.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Patton is preceded in death by his wife Annie Mae Franklin Patton, son Sammy Patton and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include daughters and sons in law Jeanette and Wendell Canup of Clarkesville, Anita and Paul Brown of Cornelia, and Jennifer and Matt Brock of Mt. Airy, son and daughter in law John and Donna Patton of Demorest, daughter in law Sue Patton of Clarkesville, sisters Juanita Rawlins of Mountain City and Patsy Love of Clayton, 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and special caregiver Nancy Ramey.
