Obituary for Sammy E. Bump Sammy Eugene Bump, age 75, of Woodland Shores, Afton passed away on Thursday, June7, 2018 at Grand Lake Villa. Sam was born on July 12, 1942 to Clarence and Wilma (Spunaugle) Bump in Welch, OK, where he grew up and graduated from Welch High School in 1961. He attended Pittsburg State College focusing on Heating and Air Conditioning.

On November 22, 1968, Sam married Linda Sue Frazee in Columbus, KS. Sam worked at Long’s Dairy Supply in Oswego, Huntsman Camper in Chetopa as a purchasing agent, Fuel Dynamic Coal Co. as a Safety Engineer, Army Ammunition Plant in Safety at Parsons and Chetopa RV in sales. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge in Columbus, Mirza Shrine, Pittsburg and Fort Scott Scottish Rite.

Sam enjoyed volunteering his time at Woodland Shores. Sam was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother. He is survived by: wife, Linda Bump, of the home, son Eric Bump and wife, Stephanie and one grandson, Hayden; brother, Darrel Bump and wife, Connie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
