Obituary for Samuel J. Dickey Jr. Samuel J. Dickey, 95, of Tampa, faithful servant of God, passed from this life to be home with the Lord Jesus on Monday, June 25, 2018. Born June 6, 1923 in Williamsville, NY, he was raised in Tampa and graduated from Hillsborough High School, before serving in the US Army during World War II. He was among the Troops to land on the beaches in Normandy on D-Day, June 06, 1944.
After his service to his country, he served his employer, Tampa Drug Company, which became Allen Drug Company, which became a part of Bergen Brunswig, for over 50 years. He served pharmacies and hospital pharmacies throughout the Tampa Bay area faithfully. He has left behind the love of his life and bride of many years, Rose Marie Dickey, and family including his daughters, son-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, to include Sheryle (Richard) Birdsong of Tampa and Deanna Brueggert of Lebanon Indiana, Brian and Daniel Brueggert both of Indiana; Rachel (Alan) Gray of Parrish, FL, Ozzie Birdsong of West Texas, Hunter Gray, Alex Birdsong, and Skylar Gray.
He will also be missed by his nephew, nieces-in-law, great niece, and great nephews. He was a member of the Grand Lodge of Florida-Hillsborough Lodge 25 F. & A. M., Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and Tampa York Rite Bodies. A celebration of life service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Memory Gardens 11005 N. US Hwy 301 on Saturday June 30, 2018 at 9:30am, with a viewing from 9 am to 9:30.
Sam Dickey was a Man of service who lived his life loving and serving his family, his church, and our Great and Faithful God!
