Samuel Joseph McCollum, 68, of Farmersburg passed away Tuesday September 25, 2018 at 3:50 pm in his residence. He retired in 2011 as a Crew Leader at Bemis after 38 years of service. He was born September 18, 1950 in Celina, OH to Samuel Leonard McCollum and Anna Louise (Azbell) McCollum.

Samuel is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jessie (Piker) McCollum; his son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Shauna McCollum; grandchildren, Addyson and Leland; brothers, Patrick McCollum, David McCollum, and Steven McCollum; 13 nieces and nephews and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bevan Franklin McCollum. He was a 1968 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Mary’s, OH, a member of Gideon’s International and a member and deacon at Blackhawk Community Church.

Samuel loved hunting, especially bear hunting in Canada, fishing and mushroom hunting and he loved spending time with his family. Visitation will be Saturday September 29, 2018 from 9:00 until 10 am in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with private family burial to follow in New Harmony Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.
