Sandra’s Obituary Mankato Mortuary 1001 N. Riverfront Drive Mankato, MN 56001 (507) 388-2202 Sandra J. Blekestad, age 69 of Garden City, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. Celebration of life will be 4-8pm on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the Village Inn at 103 south Broadway, LaSalle, Mn. 56056.

She attended school in Mankato, Graduating from Mankato High in 1967. She was employed by Johnson Marine Electronics in assembly, Onan as a factory worker and also worked as a waitress. United in marriage to Rick Blekestad September 13, 1980 and later divorced.

She had 4 children. She was previously a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary. Sandra enjoyed crocheting, fishing, watching sports, playing cards and BINGO, bowling, baking, and spending time with her family.

Left the remember Sandra are her children: Debbie Lakey, Tina (Brian) Krosch, Ricky (Nicole) Blekestad II and Laura (Dustin) Blekestad Mears; step mother: Catherine Tietz; siblings: Sharon Ternes, Betty Hale, Gail Brandt-Otero, Patty Brandt, Nancy (Ron) Mealman, Ernie (Bonnie) Brandt, Dale (Tammy) Brandt, Linda (Wes Fredricks) Hanson, Victoria (David) Lohman, Bethann Diel, Willy Diel and Kenneth Diel; 18 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; special friends: Pam Blekestad, Sharon Blekestad, Jolene Blekestad, Toni Diaz, Audrey Winkler, Kay Jensen and Nancy Buckingham; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Carl Tietz; mother Betty Diel; Step mother Elaine Tietz; brother Kevin Brandt; and brothers–in-law Leo Ternes and Gordy Hale.
