Thomas’ Obituary Thomas Glenn Hoppe, age 75, was born September 28, 1943 of rural Good Thunder, MN. He passed away on March 2, 2019. Tom was preceded in death by parents Glenn and Mildred Hoppe and brother-in-law John Sipe.

Survived by sister, Joyce Sipe of Cottage Grove; niece, Jill Voltin (Eric) of Medina; nephew, Jeremy Sipe (Marian) of Lakeville; great nieces, Natalie, Lilah, Gianna Voltin; and great nephew, Tylor Voltin. Tom graduated from Mapleton High School in 1961 and from Mankato State University in 1972 with a BA degree in psychology and philosophy. Tom served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a color guard at The Great Lakes Training Facility and was stationed at the U.S. Naval Hospital, Key West, Florida as a Hospital Corpsman. He worked at Kato Engineering, at Hickory Tech Corporation, and at the Rochester Armored Car Company in Mankato. He was also a potter and a machinist.

He will be missed by family and friends. Visitation will be from 1-3pm on Saturday, March 30th at Mankato Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Mankato area food shelf.
