Sandra Jolynn Williams, age 74, of Lapeer, formerly of Valley Station, Kentucky, died Thursday, March 7, 2019. She was born August 25, 1944 in Lebanon, Kentucky, to James and Mallie (Wethington) Ewing. Sandy graduated in 1962 from Valley High School in Kentucky and married Richard Dean Williams on February 16, 1968 in Fort Knox, Kentucky.

Mrs. Williams worked many years as secretary for Consumers Power. For the last 10 years of her career, Sandy worked at the Werner’s Hallmark Store in Lapeer. She had many dear friends and co-workers at the Hallmark Store.

Mrs. Williams enjoyed shopping, collecting, music, dancing, casinos, bingo, bowling and especially time spent with family and friends. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy! Sandy is survived by her husband: Dick Williams; daughters: Michele Demar of Lapeer, Deanna Shelpman of Tampa, Florida and Holly (Josh) Noel of Grand Blanc; grandchildren: Morgan (Matt) Brady, Taylor, Liz, Trevor, Mallory, Richard, Sophia and Chloe; sisters: Lena, Beverly (Larry), Kay (Ron), June (Jeff), Sue and Jamie (Tim); and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother: Mallie Irene Ewing; father: James Lester Ewing; and son-in-law: James Demar. Visitation will be 4-8PM Friday, March 8, 2019, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. Sandy’s funeral service will be 11AM Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the funeral home.

Father Doc Ortman will officiate the service with burial to follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lapeer. The family will receive friends from 10-11AM Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service.
