Sandra “Sandy” Louise Cassels, 70, of Woodfin passed away peacefully on Monday, January 7, 2019 at her daughter’s home with her family by her side. Born December 20, 1948 in Asheville, she was a daughter of the late James and Adelaide Williamson. She was a member of Pine Burr Baptist Church in Weaverville.

She cherished life and its simple enjoyments such as flowers, especially Mums and Pansies, helping others, and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her children; Selina Rice and her spouse, Billy, of Barnardsville, Justina Cassels of Weaverville, James Cassels of Tuckasegee, and Sandra D. Cassels of Asheville; siblings, Carolyn Skipper of Asheville, and Charlene Cox of Woodfin; ten grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 Am on Saturday, January 12, 2019 in the chapel of Asheville Area Alternative Funeral and Cremation Services.
