Obituary for Sanoa Falmlen Hensley FORT WORTH – Sanoa Falmlen Hensley, beloved wife, mother and grandmother died peacefully in her home on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in Fort Worth as was her wish. Service: Per her request, no public memorial service is planned. Memorials: In her honor, donations may be made to Arborlawn United Methodist Church.

Sanoa Falmlen was born March 6, 1938, in Grand Island, Neb. , the daughter of Grant and Marguerite (Wicker) Falmlen. She was married to Lee Hensley for 42 years until his death in May, 2000.

She was devoted to and enjoyed her family, especially her granddaughters. Academically and professionally, she received her BBA and MBA from Southern Methodist University. She was a revered tenured accounting professor at TCU for 35 years.

During her career at TCU she actively served on a variety of committees for the University and was awarded the TCU Student House of Representatives’ Teaching Excellence Award and Mortar Board’s Top Professor numerous times. She retired from TCU in 2003 and was honored by TCU to be an Emeritus Assistant Professor of Accounting for life. During her lifetime, Mrs. Hensley was a member of the FW Chapter of CPAs, Texas Society of CPAs and American Institute of CPAs.

Survivors: Granddaughters, Abby Shaffer, Erin Akard and Lauren Akard; daughters, Heather Hensley Shaffer and husband, William and Sanoa Hensley Akard and husband, David; sons, Alexander Lee Hensley and wife, Leisa and Frederick Grant Hensley and wife, Linda and her son, Eric Woerner.
