OBITUARY Sarah Jacks Hall December 26, 1929 – December 18, 2018 Sarah Jacks Hall Sarah Jacks Hall, born December 26, 1929, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at her home after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. She grew up in the rural community of New Market, Alabama, with her loving parents and lifelong best friends: sisters Louise, Alda, and Lela. She graduated from Auburn University in 1951, with a degree in Home Economics.

Shortly thereafter, she met Ray Hall at the boarding house where they resided in Scottsboro, Alabama. They wed and settled in Chattanooga where they shared their lives for more than 60 years. Sarah was employed early in her career by 4-H and later by the UT Extension Service as a Program Assistant.

Additionally, she was a longtime volunteer with Chattanooga’s Ronald McDonald House. Throughout her life she focused on building a loving, warm, and beautiful home for her family. She applied her extraordinary creativity, exceptional style and taste, and abundant love to everything she did.

She enjoyed traveling with Ray, numerous adventures with her children and grandchildren, and world travels with her daughter and sisters. In more recent years, her son and daughter-in-law spearheaded her care setting an example for the care of loved ones everywhere. She was a member of and worshipped at St. John United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ray and sister, Louise. Sarah is survived by and will always be loved by her son Charles (Lynne) Hall of Signal Mountain and her daughter Lee Ann Hall of Fairfax, Virginia. Grandchildren Ryan (Erin), David, Erin, Joe, Sarah and Manoa; sisters Alda Ball and Lela (Bill) Brown; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday December 22, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel. Visitation will be held Friday, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and Saturday, from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm. The family would like to thank her loving caregivers and Hospice of Chattanooga for her care.
