OBITUARY William McClain October 2, 1935 – December 16, 2018 William C. “Bo” McClain. , age 83, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018. “Bo” was born October 2, 1935 in Chattanooga to the late Rhonette and Reece McClain.

He graduated from Red Bank High School in 1953 where he was a member of National Honor Society. “Bo” entered University of Chattanooga in 1953 and graduated in 1957 a member of Kappa Sigma, Blue Key National Honor Society, Student Body Counsel, and voted “Best Dressed” and Most Popular. He was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant and completed officer’s course in Air Defense at Ft.

Bliss, Texas and Officers Advanced Field Artillery Course at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. “Bo” married Barbara Woods in 1963 and was employed by Power Equipment Company for 41 years, serving as Vice President and Regional Manager.

He was a former member of Rivermont Golf and Country Club and Valleybrook Golf and Country Club. “Bo’ enjoyed traveling all over the world with his wife Barbara and was a lifetime member of Red Bank United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Kay McClain and a niece, Amy Alexander.

“Bo” is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara Woods McClain; sister, Shirley M. Gregory of Lansdale, Pennsylvania; brother, Reece C. McClain, Jr. of Kansas City Kansas; brother-in-law, Edwin M. (May) Woods, Jr. and a sister-in-law, Judy Woods; niece, Jean Dodd-o, Macungie, Pennsylvania; nephews, Ben Gregory, Jr. East Amhurst, New York, Edmund Gregory, Wind Gap, Pennsylvania, Richard Gregory, Montgomery, Pennsylvania, Reece C. McClain, III, Leawood, Kansas and John McClain, Lawrence, Kansas; The family would like to thank the staff. Deborah and Brandy at Hearth Hospice for the love and care given to “Bo”. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday, December 18, and 12 (noon) to 1 pm on Wednesday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life service for “Bo” will follow at 1 pm on Wednesday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Chaplain Kevin Becker officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hearth Hospice at 1800 Rossville Ave.
