Sarah Jeanette Mills, 82 passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at her residence. Visitation is 5-8 pm Thursday and 12:30 pm Friday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Forest. Services are 2 pm Friday at the funeral home with burial in Hillsboro Baptist Church Cemetery.

Dr. Ricky Gray and Rev. Phillip Roland will officiate. Mrs. Mills was a native and lifelong resident of Scott County.

She was a very active member of Hillsboro Baptist Church and loved her church family very much. Mrs. Mills was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always encouraged her family to keep God first in all things. She enjoyed the privilege of being able to keep her grandchildren.

Mrs. Mills worked alongside her husband for over 50 years on the family dairy farm and was involved in taking care of the books and also tending to the baby calves that were born on the farm, along with many other business responsibilities. She was the backbone of the family and family farm. She especially enjoyed gardening, canning and being able to provide wonderful hospitality for family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Quinton Mills of Hillsboro; daughters, Jan Crowell (Britt) of Hillsboro and Judy Ledford (Freddy) of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Jonathan Ledford (Meredith), Joshua Ledford (Kayla) and Drew Crowell; great-grandson, Sanders Ledford; future great-granddaughter, Emma Cate Ledford; sisters, Ruth Gunn of Forest, Dee Eady (Shot) of Forest and sister-in-law, Mary Sessums of Lena. Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Belle Sessums and brother, Barney Sessums.
