Obituary of Sarah Herbert Sarah Lee Herbert 88, of Niagara Falls passed through to Heaven’s gates on Tuesday April 3, 2018 in her home in Rochester NY. Born April 23, 1929 in Greenville, Alabama, she was the oldest child of the (late) Wade and Farry Mae Poole. Sister Sarah Herbert moved to Niagara Falls in 1951 and married Clarence Herbert Sr who predeceased her in 1993.

She worked for Health Association of Niagara County (HANCI) until retirement. She was also a faithful and devoted member of her long-time church Emmanuel Baptist. where she served as President of the Usher Board and Kitchen Committee.

Her hobbies included coaching Softball in the community. She enjoyed cooking, bingo, gardening, traveling and knitting. She also enjoyed wearing her stylish church hats and riding her bike.

Surviving are two daughters, Bernadette Lee Rogers (Willie) Niagara Falls, NY, Debra Herbert of Rochester, NY, eight sons, Bobby Bogan Sr (Dorothy) of Niagara Falls, NY, Clarence Herbert Jr (Esther) of Niagara Falls, NY, Terry Herbert Sr, of Niagara Falls, NY, Albert Herbert of South Carolina, Thomas Herbert (Mary ) of Columbus, Ohio, Alexander Herbert Sr (Antoinette) of Buffalo, NY; Lawrence Lewis (Julie) of Churchville, NY, Mannie Lewis (Diana) of Rochester, NY as well as 4 sisters: Rosetta Scott of Greenville, AL, Mary Nell Moorer (George) of Greenville, AL, Brenda Boggan of Greenville, AL and Sandra Poole of Greenville, AL. She is predeceased by her sister Pauline Poole and brothers Wade Poole Jr, Woodrow Poole, Freddie Poole, Billy Poole, Tim Poole, Sam Poole all of Greenville, AL. She leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends Friends may call Monday, April 9th from 10 AM-11 AM at Christ Redemption Tabernacle, 339 22nd Street, Niagara Falls, NY, where services will begin at 11:00AM.

Burial following in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Arrangements entrusted to ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC.
