Obituary for Shane David Bloomberg Mr. Shane David Bloomberg, age 37, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, September 27, 2018 following a car accident. He was born in Waterloo, Iowa on February 14, 1981 to Brian and Cindy (Jump) Bloomberg. Shane was a member of the 1999 graduating class of Orchard View High School and continued on to receive his Bachelor of Business degree from Albion College.
He was an outstanding athlete, having played both baseball and football in high school, and four years of football at Albion College. Shane was a die-hard Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes and Orchard View fan. He was an amazing musician, talented artist, and accomplished cook.
He was a very thoughtful and caring man, even in death, giving of himself to Gift of Life organ donation to help others. Shane loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Gabriella. He was proudly employed by Pratt and Whitney for 14 years and was a member of Calvary Church.
On October 11, 2003, Shane married the love of his life, the former Jessica Ann Finn, and she survives him along with their daughter, Gabriella; his parents, Brian and Cindy Bloomberg; parents-in-law, Rob and Rhonda Finn; grandmothers-in-law, Betty and Lois; siblings: Amber (Mike) McMullin and children, Johnathon, Karson, Landon; Shaundra (Mark) Fairfield and children, Nathan and Allie; Austin (Tulia Rubero) Bloomberg; Sarah (Barry) Peterson and children, Grace, Kenneth, Amy; siblings-in-law: Jacquie (Jeremy) Sandison and children, Jude, Owen, Lyra; Jennifer (David) Mann; Jordan (Elsbeth) Finn and son, Calvin; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his faithful dog, Winston. He was preceded in death by grandparents; George Bloomberg, Betty Bloomberg, Floyd and Amy Jump and aunt, Sue Van Ootegham. A CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Calvary Church (1070 Quarterline Rd.
, Muskegon) with Pastor Bill Rudd and Pastor Keith Sandison officiating. VISITATION will be from 5-8 PM Friday, October 5, 2018 at Calvary Church. In honor of Shane’s love for his favorite teams, his family asks that you please wear the colors of the Cubs, Hawkeyes or Orchard View to his services.
Shane had a special place in his heart for children with special needs. His family asks that donations in his memory may be directed to Special Olympics. Arrangements by The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100.
