OBITUARY Shane “Scalper” Scott Hines March 1, 1957 – January 10, 2019 Shane “Scalper” Scott Hines, 61 of Deer Creek, passed away January 10, 2019 in his home surrounded by family. He was born March 1, 1957 to Constance (Cox) and Gene Hines in Kokomo. Shane graduated from Carroll high school with the class of 1975.

Upon graduating he enlisted in the Navy in June 1975, discharging in 1979. He was a Jet mechanic on the U.S.S Enterprise and worked on the F14 Tomcat. In 1984 he graduated with honors from Ivy Tech in Kokomo with an Auto Service Technician.

In 1992 Shane came back to Kokomo from Arkansas and began working at Chrysler. He retired from there after 27 years of service. Shane was a retired member of the Milwaukee Iron Motorcycle Club.

Surviving Shane are his parents Connie and Bill Sprague, brothers Kim Hines, Brett Hines (Glenda), Todd Hines, and Kline Sprague II (Carrie), daughters Shanna Hamilton, Brooke-Allison Hines, Serenity Hines, and Erin Stanley (Allen), sons Shane Hines II (Courtney), and Bryan Houston, grandchildren Coltin, Braylon, Gabriella, and Tucker, and several nieces and nephews. Those who have preceded him in death are Gene Hines, Claude and Hazel Hines, Rea Louis Cox and Constance Gower, and an infant sister. A Celebration of Life for Shane will take place Wednesday January 16, 2019 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Chapel at 1:00pm.

A gathering for friends and family will take place Tuesday evening from 4-8pm at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to make a contribution in “Scalper’s” honor, please donate to the Milwaukee Iron Motorcycle Club.

The proceeds will go towards The Unsolved Murder’s and Missing Persons of Howard County.
