Obituary for Sharleen Michele Stanton SHARLEEN MICHELE STANTON, 69 of Harlingen, TX passed away peacefully in her home on October 19, 2018. She was born November 24, 1948 in Alameda, CA to Warren Porter and June Cherrington. Sharleen lived in several different states throughout her younger years until settling in the Rio Grande Valley in the 1990s.

Sharleen was united in marriage with George Budd Mirich on July 6, 1974. Sharleen and George had two sons. She is survived by her two sons: Mason Mirich (Krystal Gaytan) of Harlingen, TX and Christopher (Jill) Mirich of Waukon, IA.

She is also survived by two brothers, Warren Brandenburg of Carson City, Nevada and Blake (Debbie) Brandenburg of Billings, Montana, and one sister, Kelli Brandenburg, of Carson City, Nevada. She also leaves behind her mother, June, a half-sister, Kelly Gushurst of Boulder, CO, her beloved Doberman pinscher, Ebony, and several nieces, nephews and friends. Before her retirement, Sharleen worked in the medical field as a Certified Professional Coder.

She was a strong woman with a passion for life and enjoyed decorating, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Sharleen was preceded in death by George Mirich, her father, Warren Porter, and her brother, Bart Brandenburg. A celebration of life will be held at the Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen TX from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on October 24, 2018, with a Memorial Service commencing at 7:00 p.m. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Sharleen Michele Stanton please visit our Sympathy Store.
