Obituary for Rogelio “Roy” Galvan Rogelio “Roy” Galvan, 87, lifetime resident of Mercedes Texas went to be with our Lord on November 14, 2018. He was born May 13, 1931 to Roberto and Elena Gonzalez Galvan in Mercedes, Texas. He is survived by his loving family: wife; Rebecca Pedraza Galvan of Mercedes Texas, children: Yvette (Oliverio) Eguia of Edinburg Texas, Cindy (Roy) Quintero of Edinburg Texas, grandchildren: Joshua Silva, David Silva Jr., Nadia Martinez, Tanya Williams, great-grandchildren, Siblings: Delia (Alfredo) Hinojosa of Mercedes Texas, Gloria Johnson of Danbury Texas, and many nieces and nephews.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents, son: Leeroy Galvan, brothers; Ernesto Galvan, Baldemar Galvan, Oscar Galvan and son-in-law: Jerry Johnson. Mr. Galvan was a proud Veteran who served in the United States Army, he worked for Queen City Laundry in Mercedes Texas for over 43 years. He went from Supervisor to Manager to owner.

He dedicated his time to work and his family. Visitation will be conducted on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 1: 00p.m.to 9:00p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 @ Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace for at 2:00p.m. chapel service. Interment will then follow for interment at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Weslaco Texas.

Military services are under the auspices of American Legion Post #205 of Harlingen Texas. Mr. Galvan was a dedicated son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is and will forever be loved and missed by all those who knew him.
