Sherry Lee Nelson, 83, of Burlington, died at 7:25 AM Monday, June 25, 2018, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born December 19, 1934, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Herman and Ruby Meyer. On December 23, 1955, she married Daniel Martin Nelson in Burlington.

He died on December 29, 2012. Sherry retired from Antennacraft. She was a graduate of Burlington High School.

She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Bears football fan. Sherry enjoyed reading, especially James Patterson books, watching crime shows, Tom Selleck films, eating lunch at Gators; but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include one son, Bryan (Becky) Nelson of Burlington; one daughter, Kim (Darren) Grimshaw of West Burlington; three grandchildren, Tyler Nelson, Breann (Zach) Christie, and Blake (Ashley) Nelson; two great-grandchildren, Caleigh and Kinsley, and one on the way.

Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by one son, Jay. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date.
