Sherry’s Obituary Sherry Elaine Walker, 69 of Columbia, Missouri passed away Tuesday (March 12, 2019) at her home. The daughter of Earl “Clark” and Betty Lou (Moore) Hicks, she was born February 10, 1950 in Ottumwa, Iowa. On October 5, 1985 in Memphis, Missouri she was united in marriage to Ronny Walker.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Ronny; one son, Steve (Lucia) Walker of Columbia, Missouri; one daughter, Kristina (Pat) Burke of Clarence, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Kamron Burke, Daniel Burke, Rowan Burke, Mac Burke, Joy Esau, Isaac Walker, Ian Walker, and Isaih Walker; one brother, Ben Hicks of Imperial, Missouri; one sister, Bonnie Helmig of Imperial, Missouri; and a special nephew, Ryan (Kim) Hicks along with several other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Sherry attended school in Memphis, MO and graduated from Scotland County High School in 1967.

She received an Associates Degree from Hannibal-LaGrange College and attended Northeast Missouri State University for three years. She worked for several years for the Florsheim Shoe Factory in Kirksville. She worked for EDP in Columbia as a payroll clerk until she retired.

She was easy going, a hard worker and never complained. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, traveling to most states. She enjoyed family gatherings, Alabama music and loved animals.

Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday (March 15, 2019) with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
