She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Anyone who knew her, knew she was a very special person. You could always depend on her in good times and bad.

She was a full-time mother until she returned work once her children reached high school. She worked as a building supervisor at the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center in Wingdale, NY for 28 years until her retirement in 1986. Her life was her family and husband.

She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Wingdale. I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.

I’d like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun Of happy memories, these I leave when life is done”. It was Shirley’s wishes that there will be no calling hours. Shirley wanted the end of her life as she lived, private.

A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 62 Mill Street, Dover Plains, NY.
