Obituary for Anthony “Tony” Fusco Anthony Charles Fusco, 56, of Wingdale, NY a longtime resident and a beloved community member in the Town of Dover NY died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 12, 2018 in New Milford, CT. Born on September 18, 1961 in Waterbury, CT, he was the son of Lucille Marino Fusco of Waterbury, CT and the late Mario Fusco. On September 24, 1983 in Syracuse, NY, Tony married the love of his life Kelly Ann Gould with whom he built his life with these past 34 years.

Right out of high school, Tony joined the United States Coast Guard rising to Chief Petty Officer over his 30-year career. Tony also brought thoughtfulness and compassion to his 20-year career as a correctional officer at Federal Correctional Institution, Danbury. After achieving his goal of completing Fire Training Academy, Tony retired from FCI Danbury last year and focused mainly on his family and friends, while working part-time as a security guard for Securitas at the Cricket Valley Energy Center in Dover Plains, NY.

Tony loved his family and made his friends and neighbors feel like close family. Tony devoted himself to the people around him, serving as a current member of the Town of Dover Zoning Board of Appeals, a member of the Music Boosters of the Dover Union Free School District and American Legion Post #1949 in Wingdale, NY. Tony was a parishioner and former CCD teacher of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Dover Plains.

Tony was ripped from the lives of Kelly and Lucille, and from the life of his surviving daughter, Nicole Anne Fusco and her partner, Hy Carrel, of San Francisco, CA. He leaves two brothers-in-law, Cary Gould and James Gould, both of Syracuse, NY, a brother, Lawrence Fusco, five nieces and one nephew. His death affects so many close friends, especially Sue, Gloria, Bill and Ginny.

Tony also leaves behind his four-legged son, Bandit and the many animals whose lives he and Kelly saved. At this time, his family also mourns the untimely deaths of his daughter, Katie Rose Fusco Pladl, and his grandson, Bennett Kieron Pladl. Calling hours for Tony, Katie and Bennett Kieron will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY 12522.

The following morning, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 62 Mill St. in Dover Plains.
