Obituary for Alan Carroll Alan Carroll, 78, a lifelong resident of Amenia, NY, died on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Noble Horizons in Salisbury, CT. Mr. Carroll was truck driver for McEnroe Organic Farm in Millerton, NY for 24 years retiring in 2016. Born on December 22, 1939 in Sharon, CT, he was the son of Florence (Brunese) Carroll of Salisbury, CT and the late John Carroll.
Mr. Carroll was a graduate of Webutuck High School in Amenia. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1965. He was member of the American Legion Post #178 in Millerton, NY.
He was also a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Amenia, NY. While stationed at Tackikawa Air Force Base, he married Michiko Kojima on December 5, 1960 at the American Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. She survives in Laurel, MS.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Carroll is survived by his two daughters, Arleen Frances Carroll-Chesser of Laurel, MS and Lori Perotti of West Palm Beach, FL. He is also survived by two brothers, John and Philip Carroll both of Amenia, NY; a sister, Jean Leggett of Amenia, NY and three grandchildren, Nicholas Chesser and Matthew and Allison Perotti. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and several dear friends.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by four brothers, Thomas, Joseph, Richard and William Carroll; a sister, Ursula Robertson and his longtime companion, Judith A. Carroll. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. American Legion Post #178 will conduct services at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church, 4 Lavelle Road, Amenia, NY. Burial with military honors will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Amenia, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #178, P.O. Box 22, Millerton, NY 12546.
