Obituary for Shirley Mayfield (Freimuth) Shirley Anna Mayfield 91 of Harrison passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Gladwin Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center-Gladwin. Shirley was born September 10, 1927 in Mallard, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. William Freimuth and Mrs. Anna (Hesselbring) Freimuth. On September 14, 1947 in Knierim, Iowa, Ms. Shirley was united in marriage to Mr. Keith O. Mayfield.

After sixty-two years of marriage, Mr. Mayfield preceded Shirley in death on October 9, 2009. Mrs. Mayfield had resided in Harrison since 1962, moving from Hillman, Michigan and previously from Lake City, Michigan. Shirley was a faithful and longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church, Harrison.

Shirley dedicated over thirty years as past Greenwood Township Treasurer and many years as a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant, retiring in 2016. Shirley enjoyed playing euchre with her family, friends and neighbors throughout the years. She enjoyed gardening, and spending time with her family.

Surviving Mrs. Mayfield are her four children; one daughter, Deborah Schneider and husband Jim of Gunter, Texas, three sons, Randall Mayfield and wife Pamela of Harrison, Mark Mayfield and wife Karen of Bon Aqua, Tennessee and Michael Mayfield and wife Rose of Harrison, nine grandchildren; Stacy, Laura, Jessica, Brian, Klint, James, Kristopher, Jeff and Stephanie, seventeen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, one sister, Norma Johnson and husband Darrell of Fort Dodge, Iowa, plus many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Mrs. Mayfield also was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Sara Teschner, one grandson, Luke Teschner and one sister, Charlotte Arndt. Funeral services honoring Mrs. Mayfield will be held Monday, September 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from Faith Lutheran Church, 2770 Townline Lake Road, Harrison, with Pastor Andrew Ewald officiating.

Visitation will take place Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial gifts in memory of Mrs. Mayfield may be considered to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Faith Lutheran Church, Harrison.
