Shirley Dee Biggs Lackey, 83, of Terre Haute, IN passed away Saturday February 23, 2019 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. Shirley was born May 23, 1935 in Birds, IL the daughter of Amadee “Dee” and Bonnie Wampler Biggs. On July 16, 1954 she married Ronnie William Lackey and was married 42 years until his death on June 13, 1997.

She worked at the GTE Telephone Company in Lawrenceville, IL as a switchboard operator and later as a full-time homemaker. She is survived by two sons, Rory William Lackey and his wife Lisa of Maureapa, LA; Scott Adam Lackey and his wife Lisa of Mattoon, IL; four grandchildren, Jason Scott, Matthew Lawrence, Heath William, and Mary Kate Lackey Stone; three great-grandchildren, Wade Jaron Lackey, Samuel Pryce Lackey, and William Thomas Stone; three sisters, Faegene Wampler, Pat Knoerr and her husband Jack, and Betty Montgomery; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Thursday February 28, 2019 at 1:00pm at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Visitation is also Thursday from 12:00 noon until the service hour of 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be given to the Lawrenceville First United Methodist Church or to Lawrenceville, IL Downtown Revitalization.
