Linda Kay Scaggs, age 80, of Sumner, Illinois passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born December 22, 1938 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of Herschel and Cleda Hazel (Bare) Fritchley. She married Donald M. Scaggs on June 23, 1956 and he preceded her in death on May 21, 2004.

Linda was a farmwife and a seamstress. She was a member of the Beulah United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; and sister, Carol Stevens.

Survivors include one son, Gary Scaggs and wife, Julie, of Newburgh, Indiana; two daughters, Sherry Bobbitt and husband, Dan, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois and Lisa Routien and husband, David, of Sumner, Illinois; one sister, Barbara Caudell and husband, Dave, of Claremont, Illinois; six grandchildren Amanda Boze and husband, Jared, Morgan Angle, Katie Rahman and husband, Brian, Connor Routien, Griffin Scaggs, and Collin Scaggs; and four great-grandchildren, Kyndall Boze, Aydan Boze, Lylah Rahman, and Tucker Rahman. Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the Crest Haven Memorial Park.

There will be no visitation. Memorial donations may be made to the Beulah United Methodist Church. Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
