Shirley L. Schall, a resident of Sylvania Township for more than 60 years, passed away on January 4, 2019. She was born on March 25, 1928 to Lillian and Louis Meltzer in Detroit Michigan. Shirley was married to Benjamin J. Schall, who preceded her in death.

Married for 49 years, they worked side-by-side in their family owned business, Jack’s Furniture House and Showroom. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Shirley created a wonderful home environment for her three children; Beverly Markoff (Rick) of Carmel, IN, Dr. Perry Schall (Gwen) of Palm Desert, CA, and Andrea Konz (the late Michael) of Toledo, OH. Shirley was beloved by four grandchildren, Steve Markoff, Matthew Markoff (Nicole), Leslie Kertesz (Michael) and Elliot Schall, and great-granddaughter Ella Kertesz.

The family is most appreciative of the many acts of kindness by caregiver and friend Maggie, the caring staff at Lakes of Sylvania, and Pro Medica Hospice. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the Ben and Shirley Schall Spirit of Competition Endowed Fund, Toledo Jewish Federation Foundation, 6465 Sylvania Ave, Sylvania, Ohio 43560; Congregation Etz Chayim, 3853 Woodley Road, Toledo, Ohio 43606, or a charity of one’s choice . Graveside services will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 1:00 pm.

at Eagle Point Cemetery, 515 Eagle Point Rd. , Rossford, Ohio 43460.
