Obituary for Sibby McLaws Peterson Sibby McLaws Peterson passed away January 4, 2018. She was born July 4, 1914, in Joseph City, Arizona to parents John W. and Ellen Elsie McLaws. She is survived by her daughter Sandy, son Mark, two grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Sibby and husband Joe married in 1936 and moved to Prescott in 1942. They established Peterson’s Jewelry in 1950 and retired in 1971. Her family was always first and she was the glue that held everything together.

She also enjoyed her bowling in many leagues and tournaments. She held office in many bowling associations and was awarded the Meritorious Service Award from Central Yavapai Bowling Association. Sibby and husband Joe were members of Smoki.

She participated in many of the ceremonial dances. A heart felt Thank-you from our family to the wonderful care givers at Westfield Assisted Living and Maggie’s Hospice. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 3-5:00 p.m. at the Hampton Funeral Home 240 South Cortez St., Prescott, AZ.

Graveside Services will be on Friday, January 12, 2018, 1:00 p.m. at the City of Mesa Cemetery, Mesa, Arizona. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Sibby McLaws Peterson please visit our Sympathy Store.
